Access the complete operating manuals for the TF550H roll-former, including printer system guidance

Refer to these manuals for information on the specifications, installation, and regular use and maintenance of FRAMECAD® TF550H roll-formers. Click to view the version for the relevant printer system.

Read on for a synopsis of what's in this manual.

Specifications

Refer to this section for information on TF550H dimensions, weight, electrical supply requirements, and ambient temperature and humidity tolerances; acceptable steel strip thicknesses and tensile strength, width, lubricant and cleanliness, and steel coil dimensions; minimizing airborne contaminants; and guidance for using the correct hydraulic oil and printer ink and cleaner.

Safety

Read about general safety, safe steel management and guidance for handling ink, lubricants and oils. You can also learn about TF550H machinery safety zones, roll-former protective covers, decoiler safety guard and service panels, using the emergency stop and reset procedure, and the electric isolator switch.

Introduction to the FRAMECAD TF550H

Learn how to identify the key assemblies and components of the TF550H, including the roll-forming section, tooling stations, electrical and hydraulic controls and systems, the inkjet printer system, and the computer machine control system and machine operator screen controls.

Installation

Use this section to prepare for delivery of a TF550H and for guidance in unloading and positioning a T550H roll-former and safely connecting it to a power source.

Initial setup

Understand the steps required to prepare a TF550H before powering-up, including setting up the in-feed guide, checking and adjusting lubricant levels, setting up the roll-forming section, checking chain tension and pump rotation, inserting a printer cartridge, and loading a steel coil on the decoiler.

Powering up the FRAMECAD TF550H

Refer to this section for a pre-power up checklist and for information on switching on the electrical power, checking safety controls, checking calibration of the decoiler dancer arm, and purging the SX32i print system.

Production

Find out how to remove steel left over from a previous job, load a steel coil onto the decoiler, and feed steel into the roll-former. You can also learn how to change swap over punch and flange tools and make changes to the lip forming stations and shear setup when fabricating different profiles.

Machine calibration

Read about scale-factor and tool offset calibration, setting tool cycle times, setup and calibration of a C-section profile, and doing quality checks on profiles. You can also find out about correcting swage, bow and twist and correcting or adjusting lip width, over-form, flange height, and dimple height. Also, follow steps for tuning the decoiler.

FRAMECAD TF550H maintenance

Refer to this section for a lubrication schedule, recommended maintenance schedule, hydraulic oil and filter replacement, printer head cleaning and printer system testing and purging, short-term and extended shutdown procedures, shear blade and dimple punch replacement, and tensioning the pull-switch safety cord.

Troubleshooting

Use this section for information on managing problems, identifying root causes, and getting support.
