How to create mirror or reverse layouts
Steelwise includes commands for detailing exact mirrors of wall, truss, and joist layouts. This is useful for detailing jobs with twin/paired structures (also referred to as duplexes or semi-detached structures).
NOTE! This is a general guide only. Exact steps depend on job complexity. Some trial and error may be required.
Mirror the wall layouts
For each wall layout in the Layouts space:
1. Type MI and press Enter.
2. Select entities to mirror and press Enter.
3. Select the line or point where the mirror will originate.
4. Type Y to delete the original or type N to keep the original.
Now you can remove or freeze the stud layer to prep the wall panels to be rebuilt.
Remove or freeze studs
In each wall layout you mirrored:
1. Type LE to erase a layer or type LF* to freeze a layer and press Enter.
2. Select a stud to indicate the stud layer and press Enter.
3. Select the studs to be erased or frozen and press Enter.
* NOTE! Freezing requires you to show the layer again when you rebuild the panels.
Rebuild wall panels
NOTE! Before rebuilding - Run the PANEL_REVERSE (RF) command for any panel (with an opening) that must be viewed from the opposite side. This aids assembly and installation.
1. Type PUA and press Enter to update wall studs.
2. (for a frozen stud layer only) Type LS and press Enter to show the stud layer.
3. Type PPD to rebuild the wall panels.
Mirror the truss and joist layouts
1. Mirror the truss and joist layouts (follwoing the steps for wall layouts).
2. (For back-to-back trusses only) Type TTD to rebuild trusses.
