Changing the hydraulic oil
How to change the hydraulic oil and what oil to use
The hydraulic oil should be changed every 12 months. The oil filter should be changed at the same time. This helps ensure the hydraulic system is filled with clean oil, maximizing the longevity of hydraulic valves, seals, and pumps.
NOTE! FRAMECAD® recommends hiring a hydraulic specialist to change the hydraulic oil.
CAUTION! Do not allow steel shavings, dust, or other contaminants into the hydraulic reservoir. Contaminants may damage roll-former parts.
Note – supplies required: 16mm spanner/wrench, adjustable filter wrench, cabinet key, clean rag, container (minimum 80L/21gal capacity), hydraulic oil* (minimum 80L/21gal), Phillips head screwdriver, suction pump and hoses,

CAUTION! DO NOT use synthetic or semi-synthetic oil. Do not mix synthetic or semi-synthetic oil with mineral oil. Synthetic/semi-synthetic oil will damage the hydraulic pump.
NOTE! Always consult the supplier Material Safety Data Sheet for specific safety information relating to the type of hydraulic oil used with the machine.
WARNING! Turn the isolation switch Off before proceeding.
With the Isolation switch Off:
1. Place the 80L container near the hydraulic reservoir panel (left side, with hydraulic glass). Use the cabinet key to open the panel.

2. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the fill cap/breather from the top of the reservoir. Be careful not to drop any contaminant into the reservoir.

3. Use the suction pump to draw the old oil into the 80L container. Take care to extract all the oil, particularly around the base of the reservoir.
4. Remount the fill cap/breather and screw back down onto the top of the reservoir, take care not to drop anything into the reservoir.
5. Re-fill with new oil until the level is at top of sight-glass (approximately 80ltrs/21USgal). BE CAREFUL not to contaminate the oil with dirt or other loose material. Close up the fill/breather cap when finished.
Now follow steps for changing the oil filter.
