Read on for a synopsis of what's in this manual.
Safety
Read about the customer's responsibilities for training their operators in the F-series, recommended personal protective equipment for operators, machine power isolations switch and power on and off states, and pre-startup safety checks. Also refer to this section for information about roll-former and decoiler danger zones and hazards and hazardous materials uses with the F series.
Controlling the machinery
Learn about F-series decoiler controls, power up procedures, and using the operator touchscreen and Factory2 interface. Also read about manual, automatic and semi-automatic operation modes, turning the lipbox on in Factory2, and alarms and warnings.
Machine software configuration
Read how to use Factory2 to manage users; set the time, date, language and units of measurement; connect an F-series machine to a network. You can also read how to set up a remote network drive, set a machine to automatically pause after an operator completes a frame, edit the text the roll-former prints on a stick, set cold mode for when the operating environment approaches 0°C (-17°F). Finally, learn how to set scrap lengths, manage downtime logging, update software licencing, update scripts and disable filtering for non-compliant sticks.
Daily machine setup
Learn the procedures for checking hydraulic oil and lubrication levels, purging steel lubrication, filling lubrication tanks, and lubricating the tool block and shear blade. Follow steps for testing the safety control and emergency stop system and maintaining the printer system.
Production
Follow step-by-step guidance for loading a production job, checking a steel coil against job specifications, loading a coil onto a decoiler and threading steel through a roll-former. Also learn how to start a production job in Automatic mode, pause or stop production, changing a profile type, and repeating, rescheduling or deleting a job.
Product quality checks
Read about FRAMECAD's recommended quality check process and learn how to check profile length, dimple heigh and offset, and flange and lip width, evenness, and squareness. Also get details on how to check and adjust strip lubrication, make a test stick, and manually operate tools and test the printer system.
Shutdown procedures
Read how to purge completed jobs and learn the steps for shutting down a printer system and for shutting down an F-series machine.
Troubleshooting
Learn general troubleshooting procedures; how to troubleshoot printer, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues; and how to recalibrate stick length, adjust the flange overform assembly, correct uneven lip widths, adjust the dimple height, and correct flare from the shear tool.
Production reporting
Find out how to access machine logs and view machine usage data.
Additional Factory2 information
Refer to this section for information on importing machine parameters and exporting TAR files; using the I/O view screen for troubleshooting and to track machine performance and maintenance; managing up and down delay, pressure hold, and lubricator times; and managing tool sequence, stick start and end processing, motion control and printer setup.
