Adjusting the flange overform
How to correct for an overformed or flared flange or prepare for steel of a different thickness
Operators must adjust the overform assembly if a flange is not at a 90° angle to the web.
The overform assembly is designed to compensate for a tendency in high-tensile steel to spring back from its formed shape. This assures the flange stays at 90° to the web after the stick is produced.
NOTE! Operators should also adjust the overform when changing to a coil with a different thickness.
Note–tool required: 8mm hex key
To adust the flange overform:
1. Open the sliding cover (Outfeed end) and locate the overform assembly adjustment screws (left side).

2. Use the hex key to turn the relevant adjustment screw to increase or decrease the overform. (See guidance below).

3. Close sliding cover and reset safety control. If you are doing production quality checks, run a second test stick and re-check the flanges.
